Starting out a new exercise routine is fun and exciting. To get the most out of it, there are few things you need to remember! It is easy to forget something when packing your bag that can leave you either frustrated or worse: half dressed. Here is a simple checklist to help you pack the night before to ensure that this doesn’t happen!
One of the top items that people leave at home is a new pair of underwear. So why not always pack in an extra pair of underwear and socks just to be safe? There is nothing worse than having to put on sweaty socks so that you can get GO’ing and get to work on time.
- Sweat towel
It’s never fun to get to a world-class Technogym treadmill for a run and see that it is still sweaty from the person before you. Neither is it cool for you to leave equipment like this for the next person. Be considerate and make sure that your sweat towel is always in your gym bag especially if you are hitting a GO Cycle class! The harder you work, the more you will need it, so it’s not something to leave at home. (Link to class page)
- Water bottle
When you get GO’ing be it on the bike, on the stepper or in a GO Dance class you will perspire so you need to keep hydrated. Keeping a water bottle on you gives you the freedom to take a sip whenever you want. Don’t stress if you forget this, as the GO Health Clubs have cool water fountains at all the workstations for your convenience.
- Shower towel.
This is vital one! After a hard workout, you need to freshen up for the day so the last thing you want to forget is your shower towel. Of course you could attempt to use your drenched sweat towel or your shirt for the day, but both options are less than ideal to say the least!
- Work Clothes
Pre-work workouts require you to plan your whole outfit for the day, the night before and pack it then. You don’t to want to have to fight the traffic to go home to get clothes, or worse have to buy something en route to work.
- Toiletry bag
This is self-explanatory, as we all have our own products that we use in our daily shower routine. The main things to remember are your shampoo, body wash, face wash, moisturizer, hairbrush and any make-up you need for the day. All other products are just extras so as long as you have the basics you will be good to GO!
Packing your meal the night before and leaving it where you will see it on your way out is helpful. If mornings are a rush, packing your meals the night before is an easy way to make sure you don’t go hungry or eating things you shouldn’t. Read more about what to pack in your lunch box here. If you need a snack after your workout pop in to the Happy.Me at the club for an iced superjuice, hot coffee or even a chicken pesto Panini.
Being prepared for your training regime is one of the easiest ways to make sure you stick to it. The more hassle the more likely you are to give up. Simple preparation will make exercise more convenient and enjoyable so GO have fun!
