You make a fresh start, pledge a healthy eating plan, join a club, try out all the classes GO Burn, GO cycle, GO Flow… and then before you know it you start skipping exercise and eating badly again. This is when it is imperative to stay motivated and to remind yourself of why you are doing this in the first place. Here are a few simple guidelines to help keep you on track:

Track your workouts

It is well known that if you can monitor your progress and how far you have come then you are far more likely to continue your fitness regime. Set goals

Goals are imperative to knowing where you are GO’ing! Everyone should have them and they should be smart, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. These goals can be absolutely anything from fitting into that special wedding outfit, doing the Argus for the first time or even running 5km. Believe in yourself; you really can achieve anything you put your mind to.

Find a friend

When you are meeting someone else at the club or at the crack of dawn for a run you are far more likely to get up and do it! GO’ing it alone, is not the way. Find a friend who has similar fitness goals and the whole experience will be far more enjoyable for both of you. Get up early

The time of day that you exercise can also make a huge difference in keeping the ball rolling. There is no doubt that exercising in the early morning leaves you feeling energized, rejuvenated and ready to take on the day. After work exercise is risky as it leaves room for temptation, laziness and excuses to slip in! If you exercise early, after a long day in the office you can simply go home, sit back and relax.

Reward

When you have reached a fitness goal, it is very important to reward all your hard work. Perhaps it’s a lovely Happy.Me smoothie, some new PUMA fitness gear clothes or a relaxing massage… whatever it is, don’t forget the reward! You deserve it. The more you achieve, the bigger the reward and so on. Have fun and make your exercise regime something you love doing.
